The year 1992 was when Amanda Bossard began her research in marine biology at Anchorage from Alaska Pacific University. Bossard began her career as a seafood commercial worker in 1999. She started working at the vessel F/V Sunset a 65' halibut-schooner and was later converted into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan who worked in commercial fishing since. Bossard is married to Aritan. They have now come together and have claimed the respective businesses. Both of them are proponents of conservation and profiting from renewable resources in the fishing industry.
