The year 1992 was when Amanda Bossard began her research in marine biology at Anchorage from Alaska Pacific University. Bossard began her career as a seafood commercial worker in 1999. She started working at the vessel F/V Sunset a 65' halibut-schooner and was later converted into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan who worked in commercial fishing since. Bossard is married to Aritan. They have now come together and have claimed the respective businesses. Both of them are proponents of conservation and profiting from renewable resources in the fishing industry. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood distributor was opened in the year 2007 by Bella Bossard (age three), Andre Bossard (1 year old) and the Bossard's mother. Bossard had returned to Philadelphia after having two young children.
